Badge-Works is the creation of two sisters, Tanya Lee and Lynda Tracz. They started out just a few short years ago making beaded badge holders for themselves. Lynda is a flight attendant with American Airlines and Tanya works for the financial intitution, Freddie Mac. What started as a hobby quickly grew into a thriving business. In an effort to meet the quickly growing demand and to keep costs down, Tanya and Lynda turned to friends and relatives in China to establish a manufacturing process for their badge holder, lanyard and jewelry designs.
Lynda and Tanya work closely with the factories in China to develop the designs and ensure a high level of craftsmanship and quality. In addition, Lynda and Tanya sought out factories in different parts of China because different parts of China have various specialties. For example, they found that Northern China had excellent quality pearls and consequently many of the BadgeWorks pearl designs incorporate these larger and more beautiful freshwater pink and black pearls. Factories in Southern China excel in casting and plating and other regions and factories specialize in leather or beading. For this reason, BadgeWorks utilizes several factories throughout China to incorporate the best craftsmanship and materials throughout the various regions.
